Dear Mr Forrest
Thank you for your letter of 11 November.
I am sorry to learn that you are unhappy with my offer of compensation. I appreciate this matter has inconvenienced you and agree that it should have been resolved at a much earlier date. I regret that it was not, and again apologise for our error.
I believe that the offer of £50.00 to be both fair and equitable however, and will not increase it. Although I recognise that you have suffered as a result of our actions, I believe that as a goodwill gesture, the £50.00 offered to you reflects the seriousness of your complaint.
Once again, please accept my apologies. I trust however, that you will accept this as our final word on the matter.
