For your amusement I thought I would let you know the latest episode of the British Gas saga.

About 3 weeks after BG redeposited the money into my mother's account they mailed her a cheque for the same amount - received on a Friday. On Saturday, she received a letter demanding that she "settled her final bill within 7 days" ( ..for the 2,437 pounds they originally removed from her account in error!) or they would take her to court. I spent another 15 minutes on the phone (I live in California). I suggested they went ahead and took a 91 year old demented lady to court to recoup the money they owed her in the first place as I was sure the Daily Mirror would be delighted to print such a story.

I have been assured the account is now cleared.....we will see......
