COPY OF EMAIL from N.Tibak Ive just received a debt letter from charles howard and partners, debt enforcement services, hell knows who they are, asking me to pay them 32.32 what a nice sum for doing nothing, or delay and pay a costs of 137.76, have i commited a crime or something. Basically to my knowledge all that i have done is move address's and i informed British Gas in advance to tell them i was leaving the named property and moving into another and gave them the new address....I also left ten pounds worth of credit in the prepayment meter for the new occupent, this was for until she receives her new prepayment card from British Gas. I was also informed that when i move into the new address my new prepayment card would arrive with in the first week...this didnt happen even after a number of phone calls..I finally was able to obtain gas through a prepayment meter which was diffinatly charging me way over the odds, I tried to complain through making more unsuccessful phonecalls, and then to be notified that my gas card was no longer in working order even though i had the card topped up twice ...everytime i inserted the card it would tell me that i should contact transco and that the card is no longer operational.... My nightmere was not over there...I have 2 young babies and unfortunatly i was left with no gas for a period of 2 months because of a computer error which states that British Gas has never supplied gas to this address when obvisously they have because of the last owner and because of my dissartrous prepayment card..this period for which i was left without gas was the most coldest period in the year...christmas of 2002/3. After the last straw i made one last phonecall to Britsh Gas and fortunatly was able to get through to the right department after trying for an hour and was very distressed, This proved to finally be successful and they arrived within the week to install a new gas meter and supplied me with a new prepayment card even though i had asked for a gas quarterly contract...they told me that i could after a few months...I accepted but wasn't pleased at all because having a prepayment card was inconvenient but me and the children needed gas for heating and hot water. Thankfully for me i change gas suppliers to the company thats already supplying me electricity and with in the first free phonecall i made it was proven to be successful and diffiantly NOT time-wasting, They were able to supply me gas and electricity on a dual fuel basis,And through direct debit, which british gas wouldn't, and their customer service is outstanding. I always speak to someone when i call and my querie is dealt with asap with no complications, London electricity obvisously value their customers and i have found No problems with them. I regret ever making British Gas my supplier for gas as they have robbed me blind and haven't been supplied the gas that i have obvisously paid for and which annoys me the most is how they fel they have the right to send such grusome letters to me stating that i owe THEM money when in actual fact its British Gas who should imburse me for my money wasted and time lost. I was sent a letter by British Gas after I transfered to London Electricity stating also that i owed them twenty five pounds...I was reluctant to pay but decided to pay that amount although i couldn't understand how they had come to that conclusion that i owe them...A prepayment meter surely means u dont owe nothing as its prepayed,Now this new letter that states i owe them more money for gas supplied at my old address..this is just disgraceful..as they should know that i no longer live there...British Gas just seem to be sending me letters saying that i owe them and owe them and owe..it doesnt seem like this matter will ever be resolved because the more i pay the more outstanding charges they seem to send me, so I do refuse to pay.I only hope that British Gas will one day be stopped from acting crudely to people that need a service that they provide, i am very pleased that there is competition outthere, as if British Gas were the only suppliers, There would be many people Disatissfied.
